A writer needs a lot of luck just to be taken on by a mainstream publisher. But while you are waiting you can always do it yourself. Shortly after publication of The Dark Side of the Fylfot, I took the pretty major decision to publish it as an e-book as well. I don’t know yet whether e-books are the future of literature but on Amazon’s American site they are already outselling paperbacks. The UK is lagging behind in the digital revolution but will surely catch up soon.

All three of my novels have now been published as Amazon Kindle books and you can check out my author pages at

Even if you don’t have a reader, you can still read e-books on your computer or phone. Many apps for reading e-books can be downloaded free of charge.

My historical essay, The Lion, the Sun and the Eternal Blue Sky: the Mongols, the Persian Empire and the West, is now undergoing its final revision and edit. It will be available shortly as an e-book from Amazon UK.
